Why Pilgrim Soul?

"Pilgrim Soul" comes directly from a line in one of my favorite William Butler Yeats poems, "When You Are Old," which has been a go-to comfort for me for many years. I have always been struck by the image of the old woman bending over her book, reflecting on her life's journey, and so I wanted to use this space to explore my own pilgrim soul. I feel the title is evocative of our status as travelers, journeying through life and through the world. It also conveys the notion of a sacred space, which this blog (and all of my writing) is to me. It is a reminder for me that the act of writing is a spiritual act, one that sustains me, lets me explore and wander as I grow and learn, and ultimately nurtures my pilgrim soul.
